The Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission is a council of governments representing the interests of a seventeen county state planning region of Texas. These include Andrews, Borden, Crane, Dawson, Ector, Gaines, Glasscock, Howard, Loving, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Reeves, Terrell, Upton, Ward and Winkler. The PBRPC is engaged in cooperation with these jurisdictions to conduct comprehensive regional planning and resolution of area wide issues. Services by the PBRPC include Regional Services, including Economic Development programs; Area Agency on Aging; Law Enforcement Academy; 911 Emergency Services; Homeland Security and general administrative services. In 2010, the Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission, Economic Development District Board of Directors received Economic Development Distric Designation by the U. S. Economic Development Administration. The Permian Basin EDD is dedicated to the business and economic development of the Permian Basin region and supports and promotes the local projects and efforts of each community within the region.
