Rita Blanca Electric Cooperative was created in 1945 to provide electricity to families living in the rural areas of the northwestern Panhandle of Texas. Over the years, the co-op has grown along with the needs of Panhandle residents. P: Today, Rita Blanca Electric serves more than 6,630 active meters, 2,590 rural residential installations, 2,389 irrigation loads, and 1,637 commercial and 17 public street lighting services. The co-op service area includes Dallam, Hartley, Sherman, Moore, Oldham, Potter, Hutchinson and Hansford counties in the Texas Panhandle.
