Serving the 15-county South Plains region, Workforce Solutions South Plains (WSSP) is one of twenty-eight workforce development boards in Texas tasked by the Office of the Governor to develop a highly-skilled, well-trained workforce for Texas employers. South Plains employers are our primary customer and all employment and training activities funded by WSSP are aligned to meet current and future anticipated occupational and industry work skill demands. There are eight full-service and satellite Workforce Centers operating across the region, each one is designed to assist employer and job seekers alike with a variety of employment and training resources. WSSP partners with area employers, chambers of commerce and education, economic development and workforce development leaders to identify the region's work skills priorities and create strategic initiatives that address business and industry skill gaps. Our Employer Services include: Assistance posting your job opening via www.WorkInTexas.com, Texas' largest online labor pool; Employee recruitment, screening, matching and referrals; On-the-job training and skills development training assistance; South Plains Job Fairs and customized hiring fairs; Employee skills training assistance; Labor Market Information and analysis; Assistance with employer tax credits; Rapid Response assistance (in the even of down-sizing/layoffs); Access to our state-of-the-art training, conference and meeting space; And, referrals to a variety of available business resources. Our Job Seeker Services include: Assistance with resume preparation; Access to job openings via www.WorkInTexas.com' Career guidance, Career Interest Evaluation and Self-Assessments; Access to personal computer and internet access, fax machines, telephones, local newspapers, online job banks and copy machines; Assistance with work skills assessments and skills development, professional development and on-the-job training; Career Connections Job Club; Child care assistance; And, customized employment assistance for youth ages 14-21, seniors over 55, individuals with disabilities, ex-offenders and veterans.
